Joan Goering (Courture), age 94, of Hopkins, died on November 9, 2021 with her children by her side.  

Joan was born in Minneapolis on September 29, 1927 to Theresa Maier and Cyril Courture.  Joan was a graduate of the Academy of Holy Angels and the University of Minnesota with a degree in Public Health Nursing.  Preceded in death by her father, Cyril, her mother, Theresa, her husband, Arthur (Whit), and her brothers Cy and Pete.  

Survived by her 4 children Nancy (Kirk), Mary (Greg), Bill (Kathy), Tom (Paula), 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  Joan was a school nurse in the Robbinsdale and St. Louis Park school districts and active in the arts and Catholic faith communities in Minnetonka, Frazee and Eagan.  

Mass of Christian Burial at Mary Mother of the Church, Burnsville on Friday, November 19 at 11 a.m. with gathering one hour prior to Mass.  We respectfully request that Covid guidelines be followed.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mary Mother of the Church.
