Margaret Mary Trieglaff, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 26, 2026, at the age of 77 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Margaret (Sauer) born on January 31, 1949, 3rd of nine kids to Joe and Ann Sauer. She spent her early years up to the 8th grade attending Holy Rosary Catholic school in Detroit Lakes, MN. She graduated from DL HS in 1967. She spent her summers at the park and beach. She was a babysitter, a Candy Striper, worked at the Sandwich Hut, and a lifeguard at the Legion Beach. This was thought to be a very good summer job. As a swimmer she earned a spot on the Varsity Synchronized swim team at DL High School earning a trip to the State. Later she attended Moorhead State.

At the age of 19, Margaret married Tom Trieglaff on December 27, 1969. It was a Christmas wedding while Tom was home on leave from Ft. Carson, Colorado. After 2 years in the Army, they moved to the farm in Frazee, MN.

She spent time as a teller for Detroit State Bank and as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital where she initiated the Life Line Program, which was one of the first at home emergency alert systems in the area. She was a very active member of the Mrs. Jaycee’s for many years and later the Frazee Community Club. Margaret was involved with Christian Mothers helping with many church functions and funeral dinners so now it is payback time. Her hobbies included bowling and golf for many years as well. She also enjoyed reading the police column in the local newspaper.

Margaret proudly raised two boys. Tyler and Tim and was babysitter for many nieces and nephews who always enjoyed time at the farm. She loved telling stories about all the young people that stayed at the farm over the years. There was always lunch and supper for Tom and the farm help and for anyone that stopped by.

Margaret had 12 years of dialysis, compounded with various health issues until her heart finally gave out. She will be dearly missed by so many but we are grateful for the extra years that dialysis provided us.

She is survived by her husband Tom of 56 years; her sons, both of Frazee: Tyler (Char), Tim (Janice); grandchildren, Coby, Keenan, Ellie, and Karsen; 7 siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ann Sauer; in-laws, Ed and Eleanor Trieglaff; brother, Richard Sauer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Garry Bigger; brother-in-law, Tom Keyes; brother-in-law Bill May, and Godson, Greg Riewer.

Services will be held on April 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee, Minnesota, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service.
