0Marion Bertha Ladwig, 95, of Frazee, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Frazee Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 18, 1929, in Grand Forks, ND, Marion was the daughter of Martin and Martha (Kjemhus) Nelson. She graduated from high school in Oslo, MN. Following her graduation, Marion began her career working at the Federal Bake Shop and later at a laundry store. She then moved to Fargo, ND, where she worked for Pioneer Mutual Life Insurance for 5 ½ years.
On November 3, 1957, Marion married Herbert Ladwig in Callaway, MN. After their marriage they lived in Callaway and various moves to Washington State while raising their four children and building a life filled with love and laughter. Marion was known for her sweet disposition and infectious smile. She was a dedicated homemaker who took pride in her gardening, particularly her tomatoes, and had a deep affection for animals.
Marion cherished the time spent camping and traveling with her family. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore various regions throughout her life, creating lasting memories along the way.
Marion is survived by her husband, Herbert, children: Gerald, his children, Heather and JR, grandchildren, Bella, Abby, and Elizabeth, Cheryl (Doug) Schwarzrock, their children: Kayla (Brandon) Bellefeuille, Ryan (Savannah), and Trevor, grandchildren: Payton and Brooks, Dale (Diane), their children: Paige (Spencer) Nordman and Cody (Sophia), grandchildren, Charlie and Saylor, and Cindy Anderson, her daughter, Ashley (Ben) Ratz, grandchildren, Archer and Eden, and her brother, Marvin Nelson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, MarLee Anderson, and brothers, Lloyd Nelson and Elmer Nelson.
The funeral service for Marion Ladwig will be held at David-Donehower Funeral Home, 609 US HWY 10 E., Detroit Lakes, MN 56501, on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2 PM with Pastor Dell Stohs officiating.
