Kris Engle celebrated the birth of his second child, a son named Hank in August. A month after the celebratory news he received horrible news. “I was diagnosed with stage two cancer known as Hodgkin’s Lymphoma,” he said. “They said if you get cancer this is the one to get because it is curable.” He finished his chemo treatments at the Roger Maris Cancer Center in November and expects the results if the treatments did the job or not soon.  A benefit is being planned at the Wolf Lake Lions Hall on December 10 to help with expenses incurred because of his illness.

The Frazee Drift-Riders Snowmobile Club held an organizational meeting for the season on Tuesday, November 30. The group voted to place the entire area around the Frazee Retirement center “off limits” to all snowmobiles, so the noise of machines will not bother the residents there. Snowmobilers living in Frazee desiring to travel to Town Lake are requested to travel on the west side of the tree line near the Retirement Center.

An outdoor Christmas lighting contest is being sponsored this season by the Frazee Jaycees. The area to be included is the village of Frazee and a five- mile radius. Those wishing to have their lighting display judged are asked to drop a postcard to Mr. Gary Krause, Frazee.
