Notes from the Chief
Notes from the Chief…Not much going on at the farm this week as the cows are busy cooking the buns they have in the oven. The due date is April 13 so the week or so before we should start to see some little ones. Next week it will be time to get things ready for calving and I will talk about that then.
As you can see below, we have issued five city administrative citations for “inoperable vehicles.”
These are the first issued in our new system, trying to get more compliance. Our fines are $50, which is a deal compared to Detroit Lakes’ $200 administrative fines. If fines are not paid, they can incur a penalty, and if still not paid, a state citation will be issued.
Also, these vehicles need to be deemed “operable.” If the vehicles are not brought into compliance, more citations will be issued.
Technically, a citation could be issued for each day that a vehicle/property is not in compliance. We will more than likely check for updates on a weekly basis or wait to hear from the property owner that things are cleaned up or operable. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact the police department at 334-4993.
