Notes from the Chief
Notes from the Chief…Just a reminder, even though I shouldn’t have too…Please keep up with your yard maintenance. There were 12 properties noted in this week’s paper that need attention.
A couple properties had been mowed by press time, and a couple more were dealing with a broken-down mower. However, as some of you know, your lawns have been mowed a couple of times already, so those that have not attempted to mow, what is your excuse?
Take a little pride in your property and your community or else you will be getting a letter from the police department about possible ordinance violations.
On to the farm…We only had two calves in the last week so we are at 69 babies running around. We hauled 28 pairs to three different pastures with a dozen or so still to be moved. Each cow and calf received a pink eye vaccine and the cows all received a dose of Ivermectin for external and internal parasite control. By the time you read this I’m thinking we will be cutting some first crop alfalfa and the haying season will be under way. We do have plenty of hay leftover, so maybe we won’t have to cut as much. Those fields that we don’t cut at the farm we will use as part of our pasture rotation for the cows.
