Notes about the Chief

Over the last few days, Chief Tyler Trieglaff was off on a wild adventure … a wild hog hunting adventure to be exact! We all know how much Chief likes to spend his weekends hog hunting, so we can only imagine the big smile he had on his face over the weekend.  So, next time you see him, make sure you get a story or two about the happenings down south.

With that being said, hunting season is upon us.  Please remember and follow your firearm safety while out hunting to help ensure a safe hunting season for everyone. Here are some quick tips to help keep you safe out in the bush:

• Let someone know where you are going and when you will be back.

• Bring a cell phone, communication device, compass, or whistle in case you get lost.

• Bring water with you to stay hydrated.

• Use extreme care when climbing into and out of your stand and use a harness if possible.

• Wear plenty of blaze orange or pink to be visible to other hunters.

Enjoying the outdoors and hunting with family and friends is a time-honored tradition that we should not take for granted. Get out there, have fun, and good luck! Unless you are hunting near me, then I hope you miss the big buck and kick him my way.
