Notes from the Chief

Well, we seemed to have slowed down quite a bit with the calving. We have 65 of the 75 cows having their babies and we lost another cow this week.  Plans are being made to move the bulls to more suitable accommodations with the warmer weather approaching. The herd will once again be separated so the cows who haven’t calved will be in a smaller pen to keep a closer eye on them. Let’s hope the boss man doesn’t leave the gate open again

The pasture the cows are on is getting nibbled right down to the nubbins as we can all agree that we desperately need some rain.

Not to put a damper on the fishing opener last weekend, but I hope it rains for four days straight.  Have a nice week.
