Notes from the Chief
Snow season is finally here. Please be considerate and move your vehicles in a timely manner so the city crew can keep our streets open for safe travel.
If the plow goes by and you are parked on the street, please park in another location so the plow can get to both sides of the road. I’m not saying you need to be watching for the plow to go by, but use some common courtesy and don’t park in the exact same place if the plow goes around your vehicle. Our city crew does a great job and works well with the police department when there are parking issues.
Please do not call in to report that your neighbor has not moved their vehicle as we have most likely taken note already. I talk often with the city crew and if there is a nuisance vehicle they will let us know. That is when a vehicle can be ticketed and even towed if we deem it necessary.
On another note, make sure your vehicles have their winter survival kits up to date and everything is in good operating condition. Drive to the road conditions and always let someone know where you are going and when to expect you if driving in adverse weather.
Have a good week!
