Notes from the Chief
Notes from the Chief….Well by the time you read this, I will be another year older. We are planning on a night out in the metropolis of Fargo/Moorhead with a hotel and fancy supper. With another turn of the New Year, it might make my retirement a little closer, but still several years away.
The cattle are enjoying the pleasant weather, I think. We had a short cold snap then a few days in the 30’s. It sure makes chores nicer when we don’t have to worry about the water freezing. Last week after the snow, I noticed that all the cows had a nice layer of snow on their backs. This tells me that they are in proper condition and retaining their body heat under their thick coat of hair. If they were not in good condition, the snow would melt due to the heat loss. Not much else is going on at the farm.
Next week or the week after I will have my yearly call total for the Frazee Police Department as well as other agencies. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to me!
