Notes from the Chief

Well folks, it’s here.  What is here you ask? Winter? Snow? Cold?  All of the above I say.  And you know what those three things combine to make?  Homemade ice cream is back!  

I was lucky enough to get invited up for lunch last week and low and behold there it was—the homemade ice cream with the bestest hot chocolate sauce ever! 

After a nice lunch I had to about over do it and eat to much ice cream, almost into a food coma.  Hopefully there will be some leftovers and I will have gotten a second helping by the time you read this.  Have a nice week.

Friday, Nov. 26

2:07 p.m. Traffic complaint on US Hwy 10.  UTL

Saturday, Nov. 27

12:43 p.m. Female requesting help getting property from her residence as she was not getting along with her husband.

4:32 p.m. Welfare check requested on a female by her father who hadn’t from her in a while. Officer talked with female who was ok and had gotten a new number.

5:50 p.m. Assist with a civil complaint on Valley View Road. A male borrowed a vehicle did not bring it back when he should have.  Vehicle was returned a day later.

6:29 p.m. Resident reporting they can smell wacky tobacky coming from an adjacent apartment. Officer did not smell any ganja.  

Sunday, Nov. 28

2:31 p.m. Report of threats being made. Hunter Hruby, 18, Osage, arrested for making terroristic threats.

Monday, Nov. 29

1:55 p.m. Unused prescription medication dropped off at the PD.

2:15 p.m. Welfare check on a male that may have made suicidal comments.  Officer talked with male and had a good conversation.

3:25 p.m. Assist with 2 gas drive-offs from the gas station.

4:11 p.m. Assist with a medical.  

7:12 p.m. Report of a resident having roosters in town, keeping the neighbors awake.  Resident agreed to move the birds out of town.

10:32 p.m. Assist with a suspicious activity call outside of town.  

Tuesday, Nov. 30

10:50 a.m. Report taken on a single vehicle crash near Co Hwy 10 and US Hwy 10.

11:16 a.m. Assist with finding a student that hadn’t been in school for a couple days.  All was ok.

11:31 p.m. Assist with a single vehicle rollover on US Hwy 10.

Thursday, Dec. 2

8:42 a.m. Report of threats made. Juvenile arrested and transported to Moorhead detention pending charges.

2:40 p.m. Report of someone taking water from a neighbor’s water spigot.  Under investigation.

4:33 p.m. Report of a male with a warrant.  Gary Wood, 18, Detroit Lakes arrested on warrant and obstruction charges.
