Notes from the Chief
Well let’s time travel back around 30 years ago. I was in college at the time, not sure which school…U of M Crookston, NDSCS Wahpeton, MSU in Moorhead or NDSU.
I believe it was sometime when I was wrestling at MSU, but attending NDSU through the TRI-College program. Somewhere amongst all that, I met a gal at a Johnny Holm concert in Wahpeton. Me and the boys traveled down from the FM area. Things kind of hit off between us and we went out a few times, however it was short lived. We stayed in contact off and on although she went to a different college but soon, she was going to be attending NDSU.
That was the fall of 1996, and we went out once or twice, then nothing. Ghosted is the term the kids use nowadays. Needless to say, I was a little hurt but moved on with my life. However, going back to that first week of school, Johnny Holm was playing at NDSU, so a lot of the college kids were having a good time.
Apparently, my “friend” was having such a good time that the cops noticed and had to give her a minor consumption citation. I did not see or hear about the incident until several weeks later.
Remember when the Fargo Forum used to print the DWI’s and Minor Consume reports in the paper? That is where I saw the infraction. I had moved on with life but was still a little sore so I decided to handle the situation in the most passive aggressive way I could think of. I CUT OUT THE ARTICLE, HIGHLIGHTED HER NAME AND MAILED IT TO HER PARENTS!
To be continued…. Have a great week!!!!
